I feel compelled to write a quick explanatory note as to why this blog site seems to have ground to a halt!!
Blame it on Christmas.
No, Im no Scrooge, I LOVE Christmas, and all the generous spirit it brings out in all of us, but man, it can be crazy!!
Both Cheryl and I are up to our eyeballs in the nuttiness of the holidays, and although writing and publishing this blog is something we love; its had to take a back seat to doing the seasonal things like holiday suppers, family get-togethers, getting kids to school exams, looking for work, stressing over the budget, shopping for gifts, for clothes to wear, for holiday food to serve, etc.,etc.
Makes my head spin as fast as a dradle.
Instead of pounding away at the keyboard, or researching great new blogging material for your reading enjoyment, not to mention preparing the great video clips weve got for the website this blog will eventually become; Im checking Google for tips on time management, how to survive the holidays culinary excesses, getting a CV translated, and pounding the pavement looking for gifts that wont break the budget!
Bye bye to buy!
This is the year of fewer gifts for many of us, Ive have stepped back from purchasing all sorts of Christmas loot. I know several women who have made the conscious choice to give the gift of time and togetherness instead of something bought in a store.
In fact, one of the best Christmass Ive ever had was in Germany when the only present my dad brought home was an incredible silver Christmas tree stand that was also a music box that played Silent Night when wound one way and Oh Tannenbaum the other. That was all we had that Christmas besides the excitement of living in a brand new country.
