ARE YOU A FENCE SISTER!
Maybe not always, but even the most decisive of us has spent one time or another mulling over a big decision and feeling overwhelmed, procrastinating and a list of fears a mile long can prevent us from making up our minds one way or another.
Have you ever felt the need to move ahead into something new: a new challenge, a new career, a lifestyle change, but find that all of a sudden youve suddenly got to prepare more, study more, spring clean, get more money together, check the social media every 5 minutes, basically do anything you can to keep you from taking that leap and starting into the new.
Its an important (at least it is for you) decision to make but youre still weighing the pros and cons way up there on that proverbial fence.
That fence can get comfortable, and sitting up there avoiding making a decision can become very very easy, TOO easy, and meanwhile time keeps on ticking away.
Im up there on my own fence right now, I used to be a risk-taker, but my jumping off that fence mojo has suddenly disappeared in a puff of fear. Let me tell you the view from here is great, but to tell the truth, my bum is getting numb and deep down inside I know I need to make that jump.
Ive been reading and listening to some incredible women lately, women who have made the choice to make the jump into a new life, new careers who turned off the fearful voices in their heads and just made that jump. They have all made a choice to move forward out of their own comfort zones, and into the great unknown. A leap of faith. Wow.
They all inspire me in one way or another. They may have different backgrounds and different goals, but they all say because they have been up there on the fence that the best thing to do is just jump.
Jump off the fence, or leap off the cliff and into the unknown.
Its not always easy, there are moments of doubt, its often scarier than hell, but everyone says that the leap out of comfort zone and into their dreams was worth it in every way. They might have made mistakes along the way but theres no regret.
So, after months of sitting on the fence, unable to make a decision about what direction to take this blog, were making a jump.
Female Fundamentals has always been about inspiring women like us, over forty and fifty.
That wont change Were just going to concentrate on the things that really matter your health, your wellness, your minds and your bodies. Our goal is still to inspire, educate and have some fun with you.
Im going to start to posting some amazing womens thoughts on our total wellness, mind, body and soul, here on this blog, along with links to their sites, so that if youre on still up there on that fence, you might be inspired to jump off into a better life for yourself too!

I came across her website through an article she wrote for the Huffington Post a few months ago. Shes a Life coach and a gifted speaker whos written a book called 10 Rules for Brilliant Women that you can download directly off her site. Shes also got a great program called Playing Big – for women who want to get further ahead in their lives, its something Id love to take, because Im sure itll will help me get my risk-taking mojo back!
I just got something from her in my mailbox today about taking that leap so a big thank you to Tara Mohr for making me finish this post!
